favorite pictures from our trip to Singapore

I got to add another stamp in my passport last week when I went to Singapore with Carl where he attended a Conference on rocks and sands and stuff.
I discovered lots of sculptures throughout the city. I love sculptures.

Carl likes anything related to WWII. This monument is honoring those who gave their lives to free Malaysia/Singapore from the Japanese in 1945.

This our ode to Halloween. Scary, huh!?!?

We took the night Safari that was recommended by many people. We were kinda disappointed, but we did like this picture...even though there are no safari animals in the picture....just us.

I stumbled upon the Singapore Art Museum (SAM) and was the only person on the English speaking tour until a tour group from Taiwan asked if they could join with their own interpreter. So I got the tour in English and Mandarin and I got to meet these lady monks who were on the tour. I didn't even know there were lady monks.

At the art museum there was a section on the development of art. This is a painting that looks like both a marble statue and and oil painting put together. The concept is new to me and quite fascinating.

We found some delicious Chinese food in China town....bringing back all kinds of good memories. I remember well a time that I would never have eaten at a place like this. Now it is just fun.

Yes, I found Universal Studios and spent a day there by myself. There was a 4 D production with Shrek. It felt like tarantulas were attacking your feet. I got a little freaked. And when Donkey sneezed, water came out of somewhere and it looked felt like he was sneezing right on you.

And there was a production of Water World with planes and boats and diving and shooting and
just alot of fun. I guess in some ways this is where the kid in me keeps coming out.

One of my favorite pieces of sculpture is The Thinker by Rodin. The original is in Paris where my mom and I got to see it a couple of years ago, so I just had to get this shot of him and me in Singapore.

I love the sidewalk art and my kids have shown me how to make it even more interesting by becoming part of the picture...so this is for you guys.

....for a moment I thought I was seeing Joseph Smith....
...and a temple....But it is the founder of Singapore, Mr. Raffles, and the steeple of the St. Andrews Church....

And to conclude, here is my 'foot' from my first outing....the famous Raffles hotel. Of course I did not know it was famous until I went to Singapore, but now I know and now you know.
