relaxing in Langkawi

After busy Bangkok we took another 3 day trip to the Malaysian island of Langkawi. Carl had to stay in KL to work so we could play, but we enjoyed it enough for him also.

As you can see they welcomed us graciously. We knew we were going to have a grand time as they handed us cold juice as we were checking in.

Since we missed our opportunity to ride elephants while in Bangkok (due to the traffic situation) we found one on the island.

We felt like we were back in Venezuela as we chartered a boat to take us island hopping. We used to do this all the time while in Venezuela and it was a favorite activity there and here.

We all found favorite places along the beach overlooking the Andaman Sea where we 'chillaxed' as Brittany says. Notice Megan's hand holding the hammock together. She slept like a mummy in there.

And this is the picture I now keep on my phone. PEACEFUL! The sun setting over water has always been especially calming to me. It was stunning.
