fun in New York

March 24th was my mom's 77th birthday. We celebrated by going to New York City this week. What a fun way to celebrate a birthday. It was her first time in New York so I wanted to get in as much as possible...

....starting with the "red steps" in the center of Times Square....

....with lots and lots of people......

Our first show was "Catch Me You Can", a new musical that we greatly enjoyed.

We met an actor from Law and Order and a cellist from the touring show of Spring Awakening when we stopped for lunch at this popular hamburger place...thanks to the fact that my Mom loves visiting with everyone....even strangers in a restaurant.

Our second show was Billy Elliot.....sooooooo good!

We discovered that there is a Pieta in St. Patricks Cathedral just blocks away from our hotel.

Memorial construction at the World Trade Centers.

Waving at the Statue of Libery.

Smiling all the way through Mama Mia! It's still as fun as the first time I saw it!
I really don't know how to capture the magic of New York City. This is a touch of the experience.
