Viet Nam

...from the city traffic...
...to the country banana leaves...
The most fascinating part....seeing the Cu Chi Tunnels. These are underground tunnels the Viet Cong dug during the Viet Nam War to hide in and booby trap the enemy. They are invisible to the unsuspsecting....
...move a few leaves and there is the entrance....
...a very tight fit....
I will freely admit here and now that part of the perks of being an ex-pat are the many places I have been able to travel and the things I have learned...for example....did you know that the French once occupied Viet Nam and they built a cathedral in Saigon and it is also called Notre Dame...just like the one in Paris.

I looks like you guys are having so much fun! Thanks for posting so quickly - love to see the latest. Katie keeps mentioning of fun Malaysia is ... can't wait. And i've started checking out baby books that teach about different countries so she will have some vocabulary to understand what is happening in August!
I got claustrophic just seeing Katie in those tiny tunnels. Could not do something like that.
